So many hours reconciling and tracking our credit card and bank statements - always in the rear-view mirror. I tried many other systems, but often got behind on tracking, spending hours to catch up. I like to confirm the details, but oh, the tedium! Also, as you probably know, married couples often differ in their level of engagement with finances. This was true of us. Enter CREW. No more “back-tracking” — you see your expenditures deducted from their category and know your category balance at all times. Once the app is downloaded, you make a deposit, divide your funds into “pockets” and get started! Interest is paid on all funds deposited and the interest rate can be increased by 0.5% APY over the current interest rate for three months when you are referred by a friend (or share!)
As a fully-digital envelope system, CREW is a financial technology company that functions through Bangor Savings Bank as a fully-digital envelope system. Although CREW is fairly new, Bangor Savings Bank has been around since 1852 and offers high-interest checking and savings accounts with FDIC protection. You create “pockets” just like you would with an envelope system. When you are ready to buy groceries, you open the app (on your phone), swipe the grocery pocket and use your CREW-issued debit Mastercard. Instead of tracking purchases later, funds are deducted soon after the point-of-sale, so your new grocery balance reflects your purchases in (almost immediate) real time. Game changer!
